Employee Awards 2026: Meet the winners

A particular highlight of the anniversary festival ‘20 years young – 160 years of creating the future’ on 5 September 2026 was the presentation of the Implenia Employee Awards. In front of around 5,000 guests, the 2026 winners were honoured in the categories of Growth, Performance and Health & Safety.

With these awards, Implenia honors teams and individuals who, through their exceptional achievements, advance our strategy, embody our values, and create sustainable value for our clients, projects, and the company. They were created based on and as an evolution of the Health & Safety Awards, which Implenia has been presenting annually since 2015.

Growth Award

The Growth Award went to the Wincasa Real Estate Community Management team led by Corina Salomon. 

What began three and a half years ago in response to a specific customer need has developed into a scalable and profitable business model across Switzerland. With entrepreneurial spirit, innovative drive and a customer-focused approach, the team has built up a new business segment that now manages numerous properties, is attracting further customers and is making a measurable contribution to growth. 

“Here, a customer need has given rise in a very short space of time to a new offering that sets Wincasa apart in the market,” said Erwin Scherer, member of the Implenia Executive Committee and sponsor of the Growth Award, at the ceremony. “We have a scalable approach and a profitable new business model. Exactly what we were looking for in this category.” 

Individual winner of the Growth Award 

Katrin Schwab, Global Head of Compliance and M&A, impressed the jury with her exceptional contribution and outstanding commitment to the further development and strengthening of the Group through inorganic growth. 

Performance Award

The Performance Award went to the Marienhof Munich team. 

On one of Germany’s most challenging infrastructure projects, the team succeeds every day in successfully coordinating the highest level of technical complexity, numerous trades involved and confined workspaces. Through the digitalisation of key processes, data-driven optimisations and exceptional collaboration, the team achieves financial success, quality, transparency and measurable added value far beyond the scope of the project. 

“At Marienhof Munich, we have a highly committed team that thinks in a very interconnected way and is driving digitalisation forward at full speed,” said Jens Vollmar, CEO and sponsor of the Performance Award. “But not only that – they draw conclusions from the data they collect, optimise their processes accordingly and thereby take their project’s performance to a new level.” 

Individual winner of the Performance Award 

Philipp Groth, Site Manager for the UBS Paradeplatz project in Zurich, was honoured for his outstanding achievement on a strategically important and highly complex large-scale project that has delivered strong performance. 

Health & Safety Award

The Health & Safety Award went to the Tangenvika Bridge team in Norway. 

After the project faced challenges in the area of health and safety, the team took a bold decision: they halted work, carried out a thorough analysis of the causes and initiated a comprehensive turnaround. Through a new leadership approach, intensive safety dialogue and a culture in which every individual takes responsibility and can stop work in case of doubt, safety was firmly re-established. 

“Safety is now part of the entire organisation, leadership responsibility is a top priority, and you can already see a real improvement”, said Adrian Wyss, member of the Implenia Executive Committee and sponsor of the Health & Safety Award. “This is outstanding and deserves this award.” 

Individual winner of the Health & Safety Award 

Xavier von Mandach, deputy site manager for the ‘secondo tubo’ consortium on the Gotthard Road Tunnel second tube project, developed a clever safety innovation there in collaboration with the local fire brigade: LED markings for the fire hydrants in the tunnel. If smoke enters the tunnel, the fire brigade can immediately identify the fire hydrants using thermal imaging cameras, thanks to these markings. This is an important contribution to the continuous improvement of health and safety on the construction site and can easily be applied to other tunnel construction projects.

All winners received an award relating to the construction and property sector: 

  • For the Growth Award, the renewable building material timber in the form of a bonsai tree 
  • For the Performance Award, a high-performance tool in the form of a gold-plated hammer drill 
  • For the Health & Safety Award, a PPE item in the form of the well-established ‘Golden Helmet’. 

The Employee Awards have impressively demonstrated what sets Implenia apart: entrepreneurial spirit, collaboration, excellence and responsibility.
