Lågen Bridge

Short description

Implenia is constructing the Lågen Bridge as part of the new E6 motorway between Roterud and Storhove in Innlandet county. The bridge crosses the Lågen river north of Lillehammer and is a key element in the development of a modern, safe four-lane motorway.

The project

Implenia has been commissioned by AF Gruppen to build the Lågen Bridge, a 552-metre long four-lane concrete box girder bridge. The bridge will be approximately 20 metres wide and supported by ten piers, with spans of up to 61 metres. The client for the project is Nye Veier.

The project involves significant technical and environmental challenges. The Lågen Delta is a sensitive natural area with important habitats for birds and fish. To minimise impact on the surrounding environment, the bridge is constructed using the incremental launch method, where segments are cast on land and progressively pushed into position over the river.

The use of BIM throughout design and construction supports high accuracy, efficient execution and reduced environmental impact.
