Replacement of bridge B470 Auerbach in der Oberpfalz

Short description

Two existing ridges on the B470 are being completely renewed.

The project

The two existing bridges from the 1970s on the B470 over the 3rd and 4th field paths near Auerbach in der Oberpfalz are being completely renewed due to clear signs of wear and tear and limitations in terms of durability and road safety.

A temporary bypass will initially be set up to ensure traffic can continue during the construction period. The old bridge structures will then be dismantled. The new bridge will be built as a single-span bridge structure made of reinforced concrete using an integral frame construction method. This construction method guarantees a robust structure with a long service life and low maintenance requirements. In addition, road, earthworks and drainage work will be carried out as well as the construction of the bridge equipment.

Services in detail

  • Concrete and reinforced concrete work: 1150 m³; 175 t
  • Earthworks: 8700 m³
  • Road construction: 5300 m²

Challenges

  • The parallel construction of two bridges in just 7 months.
