Milestone reached in the construction work for the new initial reception centre (eaz) in Meiersboden Chur

A good year after the start of construction work, the topping-out ceremony of the new Meiersboden Initial Reception Centre in Chur was celebrated on 29 April 2022. In the presence of numerous guests and in bright sunshine, this milestone of the construction work was solemnly celebrated. In the course of the project, which has lasted almost ten years, there have been a few lean periods. Those responsible are all the more pleased that operations can soon begin.

Implenia Schweiz AG (Chur site), as the total contractor and with its own timber construction, and the architects Marcel Liesch Architekten AG built the initial reception centre for asylum seekers in Meiersboden (Churwalden municipality) on behalf of the Graubünden structural engineering office.

The 'Sin Via' project was the winner of an overall performance competition in 2014. The efficient new building, made of timber elements, meets current ecological and energy requirements, offers space for around 180 asylum seekers and includes administration and training rooms in addition to an accommodation area. The EAZ is scheduled to start operations in September 2022.

We would like to sincerely thank all the craftsmen and the building owner for the excellent cooperation!
