Blast in the middle of Varberg city center

Implenia has finished blasting in the centre of Varberg - at the mouth of the mountain tunnel.

With razor-sharp precision, Implenia has blasted our way down to about 15 metres below ground level, with residents and the 140-year-old station building above. The blasting works was carried out in two stages and despite the challenges with the narrow construction site it was done with great success. The pit will eventually become part of the 300 meter long concrete tunnel, connecting to the train station in the north and the 2.8 kilometer long rock tunnel in the south. The production is now focusing on finishing the foundation work north of the pit so that the excavation work and blasting can start there too and eventually connect to the ongoing construction of the trough.
