City, SBB and Implenia jointly lay the foundation stone for the new Liestal station area

On January 25, 2023, the foundation stone was laid for the new Liestal station area. The symbolic act was performed by Daniel Spinnler, Mayor of Liestal, and Susanne Zenker, Head of Real Estate Development and member of the Management Board of SBB Immobilien. Also present were representatives of the architectural firm and general contractor Implenia.

Implenia is realizing two high-rise buildings for SBB Immobilien at Liestal station. Both buildings will be constructed in accordance with Minergie P and the SGNI/DGNB Silver label standards.

The reception building is being constructed as a replacement building in solid construction and comprises the travel center and retail areas on the ground floor, three upper floors for office use and a basement with retail and ancillary areas and access to the Oristal pedestrian underpass. The office and retail areas will be built in the basic version, the travel center in the full version.

The new residential and commercial building will be of solid construction with restaurant and retail uses on the ground floor, one floor with office space and five floors with apartments. Retail and ancillary areas as well as access to the Sichtern personnel underpass are planned for the basement. The apartments will be fully developed, while the office, retail and restaurant areas will be built on a basic level.

With the four-lane extension project, Implenia is also involved in civil engineering at Liestal station.

"We are proud to be able to realize this complex and challenging construction project on behalf of SBB and would like to thank all parties for the good cooperation and the trust placed in us," says Jens Vollmar, Head Division Buildings at Implenia.
