The Functional Genomics Center Zurich (FGCZ), a joint research and education platform of the University of Zurich (UZH) and ETH Zurich, will provide space for 80 laboratory staff and scientific equipment on a total area of approximately 3000 m².

The project

The Functional Genomics Center Zurich (FGCZ), a joint research and education platform of the University of Zurich (UZH) and ETH Zurich, will provide space for 80 laboratory staff and scientific equipment on a total area of approximately 3000 m². A new type of office concept is planned for the area outside the laboratories, which will enable different forms of collaboration. The new temporary building is part of the first construction phase at the Irchel campus and, with a useful life limited to 15 years, places particular demands on sustainability.
