Work begins on the “PerSempre” multi-generational apartment blocks in Locarno

Implenia is building the mixed-use residential development as total contractor | Innovative concept for independent living until old age

Dietlikon/Locarno, 5 September 2018 – Implenia is building the “PerSempre” multi-generational residence in Locarno as total contractor. On Tuesday, Implenia – together with the client Remo Pedrazzini, representatives of the cantonal and municipal authorities, workers and planners, as well as future residents – officially launched construction of the new development with a ground-breaking ceremony. Due for completion in spring 2020, the two new buildings near Lake Maggiore will include homes, commercial units and multi-functional areas.

The new complex will offer two types of accommodation: rooms for older people who wish to remain independent in their own home for as long as possible, and apartments for families. The aim is to create a multi-generational residential development in which young people, adults and older people live together. Modest rental costs will help make this a reality. The new structure is an ideal option for future tenants looking for sustainable costs, a family-friendly environment and adequate space. The ground floor of each building will house multi-functional areas: in the building for the elderly, these will be flexible spaces where activities can be organised, and where tenants can meet and socialise; the family building will include space for a crèche.
