Investment properties in Winterthur-Neuhegi sold to Intershop

Implenia focuses on development property in line with strategy | Projects in Neuhegi and on the Sulzer site well underway

Dietlikon, 20 December 2012 – Implenia is selling its investment properties in Winterthur-Neuhegi to real estate company Intershop. The package includes a 137,000 square metre plot of land in the industrial zone, as well as several offices and industrial buildings totalling 50,000 square metres. The investment properties are part of the portfolio that Implenia acquired when it bought Sulzer Immobilien AG in 2010. This brings a successful conclusion to a process in which Implenia has sold several investment properties not in line with its strategy.

By doing this, Implenia is rigorously putting into practice the strategy for Winterthur that it announced right at the start – one that allows the company to focus more strongly on its core competence of project development in the future. Implenia is currently contributing to the sustainable development of Neuhegi through several residential and commercial property projects, including the “roy” housing development. On the Sulzer site (“Sulzerareal”) in the middle of town, the development plan for “Werk1” is well under way. The new ZHAW library being created in the former City Hall will form the heart of the future “Education Mile” on the site. Implenia is pleased to be contributing to the sustainable development of Winterthur with these projects.

Intershop is the ideal purchaser for the investment properties in Neuhegi. As a real estate company with a core competence in the management of rental properties and as a specialist in the development of industrial parks, Intershop will make a positive contribution to urban development in the Neuhegi area. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price. Intershop will take over the existing rental contracts with the industrial companies and SMEs currently occupying the properties.
