Implenia secures new infrastructure contracts in Norway worth around CHF 21 million

Public authorities entrust Implenia with technically demanding bridge building projects designed to optimise local road and rail infrastructure

Dietlikon, 21 January 2015 – Implenia has secured two new infrastructure contacts in Norway worth a total of CHF 21 million (around NOK 187 million). This includes a combined bridge and road project on the R3 highway in Alvdal that Implenia is carrying out for the Norwegian Public Roads Administration (see map). It involves replacing an existing bridge as well as local roadbuilding measures. The bridge is a technically demanding network wooden arch bridge with a span of around 88 metres. The contract is worth around CHF 10 million (approximately NOK 90 million). The work started in December 2014 and is scheduled for completion by September 2016. The Norwegian Public Rail Administration has awarded the contract for building a continuous girder bridge over the Stjørdal river near Trondheim airport. This will allow for a twin-track section that will greatly help local commuter railway traffic. Implenia is responsible for the substructure and the concrete work for the pillars, as well as for the steel structures. The bridge is approximately 200 metres long and 10 metres wide. The contract is worth around CHF 11 million (approximately NOK 97 million). The work starts this month and will be completed by December 2015. These newly won projects underline Implenia's proven expertise in realising complex infrastructure and bridge building projects.

Implenia will complete the approximately 200 metres long and 10 metres wide steel beam bridge near Trondheim airport by December 2016.

Implenia has secured two new infrastructure contacts in Norway worth a total of around CHF 25 million: construction of a new railway bridge near Trondheim, and a roadbuilding and bridge replacement project near Alvdal.
