Implenia acquires building construction contracts

Switzerland's largest construction and construction services company has secured new contracts worth a total of CHF 110 million | Buildings Business Unit's strong market position and integrated model bear fruit

Dietlikon, 23 March 2015 – Implenia has secured new contracts for complex building construction projects worth a total of around CHF 110 million. These successful acquisitions are testament to the company's closeness to customers, the strong positioning of its Buildings Business Unit and the power of its integrated business model.

Previs Vorsorge has asked Implenia to act as total contractor for the construction of its ground-breaking "Jardin du Paradis" housing development. The project is in Biel, right by the Schüssinsel park area. Implenia is building 280 rental apartments (2.5 to 4.5 rooms) in 14 residential buildings that will meet the Minergie Standard. Completion is scheduled for 2018 and the contract is worth around CHF 85 million. As the project's name "Jardin du Paradis" suggests, the energy efficient apartments will have lovely views and are being integrated into spacious parkland on the two hectare "Gygax" site – a former market gardening area. Sustainable materials are being used for fittings and furnishings. The project also includes four commercial properties offering 600 m2 of service and commercial space as well as a covered car park offering around 260 spaces. The plan is for tenants to move in gradually from 2016 onwards. For more information about the "Jardin du Paradis" project, please visit www.jardin-du-paradis.ch

In Canton Fribourg, Implenia has won the contract – worth more than CHF 23 million – for an exciting industrial project in Châtel-Saint-Denis. It has been commissioned to build a production site for insulation materials. Having already developed and planned the project, Implenia has now been asked by the client swisspor Romandie SA to act as total contractor for the construction work. The ground floor of the industrial unit will house the production floor, offices and technical areas, while the upper floor will provide 12,000 m2 of storage space. Construction begins this week and is scheduled for completion in autumn 2016.

The seemingly random juxtaposition of dark and light surfaces lightens the appearance of the future swisspor production site in Châtel-Saint-Denis.
