New contract won in Western Norway

Challenging infrastructure project | Order worth CHF 49 million (NOK 297 million) to Implenia Norge

Dietlikon, 14 November 2012– Implenia has been contracted by the Norwegian Public Roads Administration to improve the FV 48 and FV 7 roads in Western Norway. This hybrid infrastructure project includes building a roundabout and a pedestrian subway, preparatory work for a new drainage system, and laying a new pedestrian and cycle path along the FV 7. The improvement work covers a total of 7.5 kilometres of road. A 2300 metre-long new road tunnel is also being built. The aim of this work is to take through-traffic away from the centre of the town of Tysse in Western Norway, to improve routes for pedestrians and cyclists, and to optimize the road network. Construction work begins this month, and the roads and tunnel should be ready for use by the end of 2014. The contract is one of the most important orders that Implenia has won in the west of the country so far.
