Short description

Construction of an energy-efficient office and laboratory building for the Heilbronn technology park.

The project

The Buildings branch in Karlsruhe carried out a comprehensive range of work for the project, from planning (including the building physics) through to execution. Three office buildings including storage and production areas were constructed in three phases.

The roofs, with a total gross surface area of 7,000 square metres, are fully equipped with photovoltaic systems The light and airy building block has five storeys and is accessed via a wide avenue. The corner building, with its accents of colour, is the gateway to the innovative technology park.

The cooperation with the building owner has already been extended to further projects, such as the science and technology centre and the new construction for IB Solutions .

Sustainability

The roofs of the three building sections are fully equipped with photovoltaic systems. Heat pumps help to optimise the building’s energy usage. Renewable energy is also being used in other disciplines, with the concrete core temperature control in the ceiling cooling or heating the building as needed.
