Subway access structure Oberhafentunnel
Short description
Construction of a new subway access structure with connection to the station HafenCity University
The project
For the development and improved connection of the northern and southern Oberhafenquartier in HafenCity Hamburg, an underground access structure is being built with a connection to the existing underground station HafenCity University in Versmannstraße.
The subway access structure will cross the crossing of the DB AG pillar railway, route 2200 (2 tracks on the + 1 level) as well as other DB AG tracks, routes 1250 (2 tracks on the same level) and 1292 (1 track on the same level).
The underground access structure tunnel is being constructed in sections by the open cut method in a dry excavation pit. The initial structure north will be constructed flood-protected to NHN +8.70 m.
The excavation pit will be constructed as a watertight sheet piling structure with internal bracing and partly with back anchors in the area of the Oberhafen quarter.
Services in detail
- Length of tunnel incl. exit structure: 88 m
- Clear width tunnel: 7 m
- Clearance height tunnel 4 m
- Sheet piling: 3400 m2
- Excavation and disposal: 12000 m3
- DSV sole (back-anchored): 1000 m2
- reinforced concrete: 3100 m3
- Auxiliary track bridges: 3 pcs.
- Track construction with reusable materials (3 tracks): 110 m
- Catenary systems
- Cable civil engineering incl. cable laying: 200 m
Challenges
The structure is being built while the DB lines are in operation, partly using track possessions. It will cross 5 tracks of the DB AG (including the so-called Pfeilerbahn).
