The project
Implenia is building the 5-star lifestyle and sports hotel "The Alpinist Andermatt" in the heart of the Swiss Alps as total contractor for Andermatt Swiss Alps AG. The new building is part of the overall Andermatt Reuss development. With their vision of "The Prime Alpine Destination", the developers want to create further attractive living space in the up-and-coming Andermatt vacation region over the next few years.
The hotel offers 164 residences on a total area of almost 14,000m2 and 66 hotel rooms on almost 2,000m2. The offer is complemented by an indoor and outdoor spa, sports center, restaurants, bars, co-working facilities and parking.
The project is being realized in solid construction with an element façade and a wooden roof truss and extends over three individual buildings connected by a spacious lobby landscape on the first floor.
In addition to the hotel construction, Implenia is building part of the access road and a snow protection roof.

Sustainability
- The new building is connected to the district heating network for heating, while cooling is provided by the cooling center, which is powered by groundwater. A 700m2 photovoltaic system integrated into the façades supplies around 20 percent of the electrical energy required.
