Rue Du Simplon 35, Vevey
Short description
Built in 1964, the building is in a prime location in the heart of Vevey, close to stores and public transport.
The project
The client wanted to upgrade the six-storey building with 32 apartments to meet the market demand for a good rental standard in the city center. The priorities were to replace the small apartments with 2-, 3-, 4- and 6-room apartments and to remedy the lack of technical infrastructure (plumbing, electricity, gas, elevator, kitchens, bathrooms). Today, after a complete renovation of the interior, the building offers 20 continuous, spacious and bright apartments as well as 4 stores on the first floor. A single apartment per level remains in the north.
Services in detail
The redesigned apartments, which are arranged around a central cage on each floor, gain space and volume as some terracotta brick walls have been removed and new connections created. The reconstructed partition walls are made of Alba, a material that facilitates the installation of wall coverings. The attic apartments were also completely re-insulated.
