New technologies for more efficiency
BIM & Lean Construction
Digitalisation is improving and facilitating the planning of construction projects and construction processes. Implenia is shaping this increasingly industrialised and digital development, planning and construction and now applies BIM (Building Information Modelling) and Lean Construction (LC) in all its major projects.
Creating added value in our construction projects
BIM and lean construction promote collaboration between project participants
The visual representation of conflicts and a lived collaboration improves the understanding of details and processes.
BIM and lean construction methods aim to close these gaps and strive for early stakeholder involvement. Such a management system offers significant opportunities to improve the quality of planning, understanding and also the performance of construction projects in all phases of construction.
Examples of transformation in the construction industry
At Implenia, thousands of employees deal with real estate and infrastructure every day, as well as with the question of how to meet daily challenges even more efficiently.
BIM (Building Information Modelling) and Lean Construction are two of the prominent concepts that challenge traditional practices in construction management. The increased adoption of BIM and LC is an important prerequisite for the transformation of the construction industry and also provides optimal support for new and partnership-based execution models.
Implenia specifically promotes this fundamental attitude - Here are a few examples
BIM – Building Information Modeling
Build digitally
Implenia has recognised the relevance and actively promoted the implementation of networked planning and execution of building structures.
In2019, a Group-wide approach was defined, the aim of which is to establish a uniform digital BIM-based process across the entire value chain. Local BIM experts support the project teams in its application at all divisions.
The fact that BIM promotes efficiency and quality, as well as collaboration on projects, has already been and is being demonstrated in the development of the Lokstadt district in the Swiss city of Winterthur or the Varberg Tunnel in Sweden. Now it is increasingly a question of digitising all processes across the board.
The digital construction site
Ideal for complex large-scale projects
Digitalisation is fundamentally changing the construction industry. There is a lot of room for change, making our daily work more efficient and offering exciting challenges and new career prospects. At Implenia, digitalisation has long since arrived. Find out more about everyday digital construction site life, the work of a BIM manager and the use and many benefits of Building Information Modelling.

Lean Construction
MORE SAFETY AND EFFICIENCY
By applying lean methods, risks and difficulties can be identified in advance and clear work processes can be established.
Originally, the term lean management comes from the automotive industry. As early as the 1950s, scientists were investigating how to optimise production in order to work as efficiently as possible.
These lean principles can be applied to almost any industry - and have arrived in the construction sector. At Implenia, we understand lean construction to mean effective, low-waste project planning and management. This is done with the clear aim of significantly increasing transparency, collaboration and communication. The aim is to increase quality, complete projects on time and reduce costs.
