The project
The residential complex on Ammonstraße/Flemmingstraße in Chemnitz was constructed between 1925 and 1938 and now contains 102 homes. Its primary energy demand was reduced significantly through targeted measures to upgrade its energy efficiency. The buildings were upgraded to the latest standard of sound and heat insulation. The technical building equipment and electrics were completely modernised and a new hygrometrically regulated ventilation system was installed. This resulted in savings of up to 80 per cent.
