Quartier Boverattes-Est, Pully
Short description
The landscape of the Lavaux region was shaped to tame the slopes, whether for working in the vineyard or for living. The municipality of Pully, the owner of the land, realised that many residents were leaving the municipality because there was no suitable housing locally.
The project
Ferrari Architectes won first prize with the Linea project and was commissioned to realise the plans for the six buildings with 123 flats and a kindergarten.
The Les Boverattes plot extends over almost 15,000 square metres on a slope towards the lake and is also well suited for the construction of terraces. The project adapts to the natural terrain by proposing the construction of six buildings staggered on three levels. They follow the relief and mark out kinks that provide space for two meeting rooms.
The outdoor facilities are designed to promote soft mobility and the movement of people with reduced mobility, with a varied offer suitable for everyone: there are a variety of services for people with disabilities: Meeting zones and a central esplanade, playgrounds and meadow play areas, as well as green zones and tree planting.
Services in detail
The site, which was previously used for winegrowing, was contaminated with copper, traces of which were discovered at the start of the construction work. The soil was therefore treated before construction began, the foundation stone for which was laid in March 2019. A year and a half later, the neighbourhood is home to its first residents. Constructed with a reinforced concrete structure and protected by perimeter insulation, the buildings meet the criteria for sustainable development and have been awarded the Minergie® label. Photovoltaic modules on the flat roofs, triple glazing and ventilation systems with heat recovery using an air/water heat pump are some of the technical elements that ensure the complex's good energy efficiency. The objectives have now been achieved and the municipality of Pully is home to a new residential neighbourhood with terraces that recall the town's vocation as a wine-growing region. Thanks to the municipality's initiative, several hundred tenants benefit from a privileged living environment in the lakeside town.
