Short description

After the partial demolition of the existing buildings at Passauer Straße 2-3, a five-storey building with a basement level is to be constructed on the site.

The project

The project includes the construction of a 20.0-meter-deep excavation pit with a base area of approximately 5,200 m², consisting of a quadruple reinforced concrete diaphragm wall (d = 1.00 m) and a medium-height jet grouted base. A further component for the construction of the excavation pit is the demolition of the remaining old structures.
A special feature is the additional trough outside the construction pit on Passauer Straße. The pedestrian tunnel from KaDeWe, which dates back to the 1960s, will be connected to the new construction pit at a later stage.
The ground level is at a height of approx. 35.0 m above mean sea level, the current groundwater is currently expected to be at +31.50 m above mean sea level according to the groundwater level map of 2016. According to the current state of planning, an excavation pit with a depth of up to 20.0 m is to be constructed for the planned new building.

(lower edge of base plate + 15.0 m above MSL) The integration of the basement floors into the existing groundwater makes it necessary to lower the groundwater level within the construction pit. To limit the amount of water to be pumped, the excavation for the trough is designed and constructed to be almost impermeable to water, both vertically, using in-situ concrete slurry walls, and horizontally, using a medium-lying jet grout base.
