Services in detail
Building H was designed as a sustainable, healthy, highly efficient and economical building. By minimising waste and saving energy, the building benefits not only its occupants but the global community as a whole. The building has been designed to achieve a level of performance equivalent to the LEED Gold standard. LEED is the world's most widely used green building rating system and a globally recognised symbol of successful sustainability, providing a solid framework for the continuous optimisation of the building's infrastructure and energy requirements. The building consists of a wood-concrete composite construction and utilises the thermal mass of the concrete floors for heating and cooling. It is an "active floor slab" that stores energy and thus reduces the peak energy demand for heating and cooling. Building H "connects" efficiently to the existing central heating system of the Palais des Nations and uses the Genilac water cooling system of Lake Geneva to cool the building.
