Construction of foundations for a heat accumulator, including machine building, for the thermal power station in Dessau

The project

The work carried out included constructing the foundations for the heat accumulator. This was done using a foundation slab bedded on bored piles. In addition, a machine building was constructed.

Challenges

Early on in the project, heavy contamination of the building subsoil was discovered. This meant that the work had to be carried out under safety precautions defined and monitored by the employer’s liability insurance association.
