Constellium pressing plant PL12, production and logistics halls with adjoining social building and workshop
Short description
Turnkey construction of production and logistics halls with adjoining social building and workshop
The project
Constellium is a leading global aluminium processor, founded in 2011 through a spin-off from Rio Tinto. For the plant in Singen, Constellium is investing around EUR 30 million in a new press line for the growing demand from e-mobility in the automotive and transport industries. After optimising the construction, Implenia built two 170 m long bays as production and logistics halls (8,200 m²) with an attached two-storey social building (980 m²) and workshop (980 m²). The existing shell, floor slabs and foundations (approx. 3,000 m³) as well as deep machine foundations (400 m³) were recycled and re-installed, only unusable waste materials were disposed of. Despite unexpected soil conditions and asbestos removal according to TRGS 519 on the inaccessible roof, the production deadline could be confirmed.
Services in detail
Demolition of the existing halls, turnkey construction incl. technical building equipment and planning, complex plant foundations as BIM, in-situ concrete and prefabricated parts (approx. 7,000 m3), steel construction (approx. 600 to), shell, hall cranes (7), turnkey extension of the social building, heating, ventilation, sanitation, electrical supply (5 transformers) and electrical equipment, compressors (2) and compressed air distribution, BMA, sprinklers
