Implenia is building the first phase of the "Aeschbach Quartier" residential development in Aarau for around CHF 50 million
Dietlikon, 16 January 2015– Implenia has won the order to build a residential development in Aarau for around CHF 50 million. Working as general contractor for real estate company Mobimo, the Group is constructing eight buildings with a total of 92 owner-occupied homes. The project is being built on Plot 4 of the "Torfeld Süd" development. Together with the properties on Plots 1 and 2 and the existing parkland, this will form the new "Aeschbach Quartier" (see attached plan). In addition to the new homes, a crèche as well as commercial and retail space will be built over the next few years - all right by a new football stadium. This will give Aarau a new look west of the historic centre, providing more space for living, culture, work and sport. Thanks to its city-centre location and close proximity to the railway station and private and public transport hubs, the district is particularly suitable for residential use. The Group carried out and completed the demolition and site remediation work on Plot 4 in December 2014. Excavation work is now in full swing. Actual construction begins in mid-March 2015 and the buildings should be ready for use in spring 2017. These buildings will meet Minergie standards, offering future residents a high degree of comfort and convenience combined with low energy consumption. "We want to develop a lively, new urban district," says Mobimo's CEO Christoph Caviezel. "While integrating the historical industrial structures, it is also open to new ideas. We are pleased to have awarded the contract for the first stage of the Aeschbach District to a competent and experienced partner like Implenia." For Implenia the project is further evidence of the market's confidence in the group's core competences in complex building construction.
