Schmitten Residential development Bodenmattpark

Short description

New construction of a residential development in the village centre of Schmitten (FR). The 70 flats of owner-occupied standard are divided into 5 buildings, each with 5 storeys. The surroundings would be designed according to the village character with walkways and a playground.

The project

The buildings are connected to each other on the ground floor by the parking garage with 104 parking spaces. All flats can be reached without steps from the parking garage.

Challenges

The plot of land is located in the centre of the village of Schmitten, the project which has led to various conflicts with the dense building and the construction site installation. Ensuring safety for children on their way to school.

According to the subsoil geology, measures such as material replacement and groundwater sealing had to be taken. Various relocations of existing old service pipes and the infiltration of meteoric water on the site.

Sustainability

The residential development was built according to the Minergie standard (not certified). The building owners decided to use geothermal probes to generate heat, which is supported by a PV system on all buildings.

The e-mobility stations in the AEH promote the efficient use of solar energy.
