EUREF Campus Düsseldorf

Short description

Implenia is building the EUREF-Campus Düsseldorf, an innovative and sustainable office location right next to the airport railroad station.

The project

The EUREF-Campus Düsseldorf is an international showcase for the energy and mobility transition right next to the airport railroad station. Implenia's Major Projects and Essen building construction branches are building the second EUREF Campus for the client EUREF AG. Implenia was commissioned with the turnkey construction of the new building after a tendering phase that was as short as it was collaborative.

Services in detail

The seven-storey office complex will be realized in two construction phases: The first should be ready for occupation by mid-2024, the second by mid-2025.

The commercial and office space will be directly accessible from the train station and from Ahrensplatz.

Due to its special location directly at the Düsseldorf Airport transport hub, the project is inward-looking in order to achieve a high quality of living and working space: Three glass-roofed and greened inner courtyards and a special ventilation system enable a special working and public concept. The campus integrates the so-called "Jauch dome" from the former gasometer in Berlin, an indoor garden, event and function areas as well as an extensive gastronomic offering.

Challenges

In order to meet the tight schedule, the project is being implemented from the outset with a BIM model and using a lean cycle plan.

Sustainability

The energy concept is geared towardsCO2-neutral operation and integrates the EUREF-Campus into a network of environmentally friendly energy producers and storage facilities in the region.
