Ground-breaking ceremony for the new "Dreiklang" hospital building at Aarau Cantonal Hospital (KSA)
Dietlikon, August 12, 2021 - Work on the new hospital building in Aarau officially began today with the ground-breaking ceremony. The project name Dreiklang is derived from the perfect interplay between the three areas of use - outpatient clinics, functional areas and wards - of what is currently the largest hospital building in Switzerland. The building concept impresses with its integrating functionality, the clear separation of outpatient and inpatient medicine and its flexibility. The guiding principle of the concept is to ensure the shortest possible distances for staff and patients. The new building should be ready for operation in 2025.
Peter Suter, CEO of Aarau Cantonal Hospital, Sergio Baumann, CEO a.i. of Aarau Cantonal Hospital, and Jens Vollmar, Head Division Buildings Implenia, were joined at the ground-breaking ceremony by representatives of the Canton of Aargau, the City of Aarau, neighbors and partners involved in the construction. "Today is a great day for us and we are proud to be involved in shaping this pioneering new hospital building as a total contractor," says Jens Vollmar, Head Division Buildings at Implenia.
In May this year, Implenia took over BAM Swiss AG, the former consortium partner in the Dreiklang project. This made Implenia the sole total contractor for the new Aarau Cantonal Hospital building.
