Major new project in Zurich Altstetten

Implenia contracted by Swiss Federal Railways to build 185 apartments and 5000 square meters of business space on the Letzibach C plot.

Dietlikon, 16 May 2013 – As construction work at Europaallee, next to the main railway station in Zurich, continues apace, Implenia has now been asked by Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) to realise another major project as general contractor, this time close to Zurich Altstetten railway station. Four residential and business blocks are to be built on the “Letzibach C” plot by 2015. The project includes 185 apartments, 1000 square meters of floorspace for services, 3500 square meters for retail and 500 square meters for restaurants/cafes. Architecture is by the Adrian Streich Architekten AG / Loeliger Strub Architektur GmbH consortium. “As well as the tight deadline, one of the particular challenges with this project is handling the different apartment types,” says Heidrun Keen, who is managing the project for Implenia. The project is being carried out to Minergie-Eco standards. Implenia provides combined general contracting and carcassing services from a single source. The contract for the project is worth around CHF 80 million.
