Implenia wins orders in Switzerland totalling around CHF 100 million

Major building projects in Central and Western Switzerland | Reflection of good market position and genuine “One Company” strategy

Dietlikon, 27 October 2016 – Implenia has recently won several orders to construct buildings in Central and Western Switzerland, with contracts totalling approximately CHF 100 million. These successes confirm how well Implenia is positioned in the market and underline the capabilities of Switzerland’s leading construction and construction services company.
A new residential and office property being built in Kriens will have a significant impact on the local region. The project is being developed by Mobimo and the investor, a group within Credit Suisse Investment Foundation. It was designed by Lucerne-based Schärli architects and forms part of the “Die Mikropole-Mattenhof, Luzern Süd” site development. Implenia, as total contractor, has been asked to build around 6,000 m2 of commercial and office space, as well as 146 rental apartments, as part of the “Mattenhof II” project. The redevelopment has its own centrally supplied energy network powered by groundwater and geothermal probes; it follows the SIA energy efficiency path for implementation of the 2000-Watt Society, and it is targeting Minergie certification. The total investment volume comes to around CHF 60 million. Work starts in January 2017 and will be completed in spring 2019.
A mixed-use building is to be constructed in the centre of La Chaux-de-Fonds. As well as office and commercial space, it will house rental or owner-occupied apartments, as well as an underground car park. Acting as total contractor, Implenia is carrying out the project, which has an investment volume of more than CHF 40 million, for ACG Immobilier SA. The central location will present some difficult logistical challenges, but having dealt with similar projects, most recently at Armourin in Neuchâtel, the on-site team has the right experience to master them. Construction work will start in May 2017, with completion due in September 2019.
A very pleased Jens Vollmar, General Manager Buildings, commented: “Implenia’s latest acquisition successes have secured a number of prestigious building construction projects in the French-speaking part of the country and Central Switzerland. This confirms our good market position and vindicates the Group’s genuine ‘One Company’ approach, which allows us to provide our customers with comprehensive construction services from a single source.”
