Implenia wins building construction order in Bad Homburg

Construction management contract for “Südcampus” residential district | Order volume predicted to be in high double-digit millions

Dietlikon, 16 May 2019 – Implenia has signed a two-stage construction management contract with Wüstenrot Haus- und Städtebau GmbH for the “Wohnquartier Südcampus” project in Bad Homburg am Taunus.

The first stage of this partnering contract with the wholly owned subsidiary of Wüstenrot & Württembergische covers comprehensive planning up to submission of the building permit. The second stage covers turnkey construction of the residential neighbourhood in the north of Frankfurt am Main. The development comprises 500 mid-standard residential units, a children’s day-care centre, underground parking and outdoor space, as well as associated infrastructure. Construction work is scheduled to begin at the start of 2020, with completion planned for the end of 2022.

In this project, Implenia, as contracting partner, has the opportunity to optimise construction plans in collaboration with the client right from the start. Building Information Modeling (BIM) is being used for both planning and execution. The necessary division of the project into different plots, construction elements and sections make it perfect for the application of Lean Construction principles.

Implenia’s planning responsibilities extend to the structural plans, which will be handled by its engineering department in Leipzig. The pronounced spirit of partnership and trust evident between Implenia and Wüstenrot in contract negotiations suggests that this project will be a success for all concerned.
