Implenia secures new modernisation contracts worth a total of around CHF 80 million
Dietlikon, 14 July 2015 – Implenia's Modernisation unit is enjoying a healthy order intake, and has just scored its largest acquisition success in the Northwest Switzerland region. On behalf of Swiss Prime Site AG, Implenia, acting as general contractor and builder, is converting an existing office property close to Barfüsserplatz in the heart of Basel. The site is being turned into the first Swiss branch of successful budget design hotel chain "MotelOne". The 143-room hotel will be completed by summer 2016. Construction work on the project has already begun. Implenia Modernisation has won another contract in Basel to refurbish and convert a logistics building for a major pharmaceuticals company. The unit has also acquired new projects in the Zurich region. In Zurich city centre, for example, Implenia has won the contract to repurpose an old office building on behalf of a property development company. This "TownTown" project involves the creation of high quality owner-occupied apartments. Construction work starts at the beginning of September 2015 and should last until the end of February 2017. Together with other successful acquisitions in the Northwest Switzerland and Zurich regions – including upgrading the pipework and building shells of 26 apartments in Allschwil and the conversion of a large office building in Aarau – the still relatively new Modernisation unit has secured jobs worth a total of CHF 80 million. With its comprehensive range of services – from consulting to planning to implementation – Implenia is on a successful course within the growth market of modernisation. Implenia's modernisation strategy is currently being rolled out across the whole of Switzerland.
