Implenia gains momentum in modernisation business

Orders worth around CHF 65 million acquired in Zurich | Well stocked project pipeline | Modernisation unit successfully positioned with its portfolio of comprehensive consultancy, planning and execution services

Dietlikon, 9 October 2014 – Implenia’s Modernisation unit is developing dynamically and has secured some important new contracts. These include a project to refurbish two office buildings in Zurich for the insurance company Allianz Suisse Versicherungs-Gesellschaft AG. Allianz Suisse’s relocation to a new head office in Wallisellen left its city centre properties at Bleicherweg 19 and Claridenstrasse 41 vacant. Implenia, as total contractor, is now responsible for completely modernising them. Contemporary, flexible and attractive office premises are required for future tenancies, and the building is being prepared to accommodate several users on each floor. The ground floor is being expanded and on the street side will be given over fully to shops and restaurants. The work is being done between July 2014 and October 2015, with different parts of the buildings being handed over in a staggered schedule. Another contract that Implenia has won in Zurich involves the refurbishment of an attic floor at Werdstrasse 110/112. Four mid-standard apartments are being integrated into the roof space of two multi-occupancy dwellings. The work, which should be completed by the end of 2014, comprises the re-insulation and re-covering of the roof, along with the refurbishment of balconies on the courtyard side of the building. The client is Kornhaus Verwaltungs AG. Together with other newly acquired modernisation projects in the Zurich region, Implenia has thus secured contracts worth a total of around CHF 65 million. Successful acquisitions contribute to a well-stocked project pipeline and underline the unit’s good position in the market. In recent months, the unit has also succeeded in generating consultancy mandates from various clients to develop comprehensive property strategies. Because it can provide specialised services covering consultancy, planning and execution from a single source, Implenia is in an excellent position to profit from the very promising growth of the modernisation market.
