Implenia wins follow-up contract for the South Office Building on the Green Metro Campus Zurich
In Dielsdorf, Zurich, the Metro Campus Zurich is being built, a lighthouse project in terms of sustainability and energy efficiency by the leading data center provider Green. The 46,000m2 project is being built in several stages and includes three modern and energy-efficient data centers and a business park. Following the successful completion of the first data center, Implenia has been awarded the follow-up contract for the South Office Building.
Civil engineering work on the Metro Campus has already begun at the beginning of January 2023. The next stage will involve the construction of the South Office Building and the underground car park. "We are convinced that the already well-coordinated collaboration with a tried-and-tested team, as in the first project, will ensure a smooth project flow in this follow-up order as well, and we would like to thank Green for its trust," says Thomas Vogler, Zurich Branch Manager of Implenia's Buildings Division.
Green designed and has now commissioned the construction of 3,000m2 of office space with a modern interior and high-quality materials to Minergie standard. The building is heated in a climate-neutral manner using waste heat from Datacenter M. This is considered exemplary and will contribute to CO2 reduction in the region. In addition to use on the site, 3,500 households from the region as well as industry and commerce will also be able to benefit from the waste heat in the future via the district heating network. "Our project proves that we can achieve benefits for the entire region with sustainable data centers by harnessing the valuable resource of waste heat. All in the spirit of the circular economy," explains Andrea Campomilla, COO, who is responsible for Green's data centers.
