KEY PROJECT DIVISION BUILDINGS
WolkenWerk, Zurich
Division Buildings is about to finish work on the tower blocks and base building that make up “WolkenWerk” in Zurich-Oerlikon. More than 300 owner-occupied apartments have been built, offering high standards of living quality and sustainability: from studios to flexible garden apartments, to exclusive penthouse maisonettes. With its tried-and-tested integrated approach, Implenia has provided general contracting services as well as handling the special foundations, concreting and masonry work. This complex major project placed substantial demands on the ability of all the partners involved to cooperate, which is why Lean Construction methods played such a central role. Thanks to Lean Construction, it was possible to take a fully integrated approach to the project; links between different aspects were made clear while processes and communications were made much more efficient.
