The freezing technique is a process that originated in mining. This technique was first used when sinking mine shafts in England (1862) and Germany (1883). U5 Berlin: In the course of one of the largest inner-city ground freezing operations in Europe to date, Implenia's foundation engineering experts froze the subsoil with a volume of 28,000 m³.
Ground freezing
Soil freezing with brine or nitrogen is used for temporary sealing or soil consolidation. Tunnel excavations and cross-cuts in groundwater can also be carried out under the protection of icing bodies. Temporary gap freezing allows "watertight excavations" to flow through again after construction is completed.
