Residential and commercial building Ilversgehovener Platz

Short description

Implenia has built a residential and commercial building for GSW in Erfurt as the new focal point of the city quarter.

The project

Implenia has been commissioned by GSW - Gemeinnütziges Siedlungswerk Frankfurt to construct a turnkey residential and commercial building with underground parking in Erfurt.

On a gross floor area of around 9,100 sqm, 72 residential units and commercial space with a gross floor area of 2,430 sqm have been created. The building was designed by Grabowski Spork Architekten, Wiesbaden, who were the winners of the previous competition.

With around 11,000 inhabitants, Ilversgehoven is one of the largest districts in Erfurt. The realization of the residential and commercial quarter has improved local amenities and made the district more diverse.

Services in detail

The five-storey building closes the urban block along the streets and forms a square situation towards the new Ilversgehofener Platz. Towards the avenue, a clinker brick façade with large windows and recessed loggias forms an urban backdrop for the square. Along the residential street leading into the square, the façade is livelier and brightly plastered staircase cores structure the view.

All apartments face both the streets and the quiet inner courtyard and have either a loggia and balcony or a garden on the first floor. The inner courtyard of the complex is designed as a play and garden zone and is available to all residents. The 4th floor has a continuous roof terrace along the avenue. These are private roof terraces along the residential street.
