The Vasastan project is part of the Haga section of the Western Link, which also includes Haga station. The tunnel construction for a large station area with a span of more than 50 meters includes a railroad tunnel, a parallel rescue and service tunnel as well as ventilation and fire gas tunnels.
The western connection will make traveling in Gothenburg and western Sweden easier. Three new stations will make traveling easier, faster and with fewer changes.
The Vasastan sub-project connects to the Rosenlund sub-project in the north and the Korsvägen sub-project in the south. In total, the entire Haga sub-project comprises 1,700 meters of tunnel, including 250 meters of concrete tunnel in earth and clay, as well as a new subway station in Haga.
