Railroad crossing Ludwigslust
Short description
Together with the city of Ludwigslust, DB Netz AG is modernizing the infrastructure at Ludwigslust station by constructing a railway overpass and building barrier-free platform access to the tracks. The area around the station is being completely redesigned in connection with the construction of the central bus station and the station forecourt.
The project
As a replacement for the former level crossing, a railway underpass with connecting trough structures is being built at km 170.8+28, based on the 6100 Berlin - Hamburg line.
In addition to the special civil engineering works for the watertight construction pits, the VE Lot 13 includes the delivery and installation of auxiliary bridges for the restoration of rail traffic between Berlin and Hamburg. The subsequent engineering construction of the EÜ is planned in lot 12.
For the new construction of the EÜ, a construction pit enclosure made of slot and sheet pile walls with a deep-lying sealing sole is planned as a sole seal for the construction pit enclosure. The sealing base blocks the excavation pit against the vertical inflow of groundwater and is designed as a jet-grouted base at the appropriate depth. The construction of the excavation pit will be carried out in six construction phases, subdivided by transverse bulkheads, and the supporting of the excavation pit walls will be carried out in sections using permanent anchors or bracing.
During the shutdown periods for construction phases 1 and 2, the rail traffic on the Hamburg-Berlin, Ludwigslust-Wismar and Parchim lines, as well as station tracks 15-23, will be restored after the construction of the partial excavation pits and the installation of temporary bridges.
At the moment, access to the platforms in the station is via a pedestrian underpass with connecting stairs to the platforms. In the future, these are planned from the EÜ via handicapped-accessible elevators and stairways.
In advance and at the same time, the other lots of the tender will be carried out in the other lots: construction clearance measures for cable rerouting, explosive ordnance search, and dismantling of the overhead lines and platforms.
The completion of the special civil engineering works for the construction of the approx. 184m long trough excavation is planned for mid-November 2022. The railway overpass is scheduled to be put into operation in 2025.
