
New research building Center for Community Medicine Greifswald
Short description
Implenia is supplying perforated metal louvre façades for the new interdisciplinary center for health research at the University Medical Center Greifswald (UMG).
The project
As an interdisciplinary center for health research, the "William B. Kannel Center for Community Medicine" will unite six previously independent departments at different locations under one roof in order to further advance epidemiology, prevention and healthcare research.
Initial work on the construction project, which is jointly funded by the federal and state governments, began in October 2022 and is scheduled for completion at the end of 2026. The research building will then offer space for 379 employees on a usable area of 7488m2 and enable the daily examination of up to 173 people.

Implenia Fassadentechnik GmbH has been awarded the contract for the perforated metal louvre façade lot. The service includes:
- 2,900 m² motorized vertical louvres made of aluminium frames with perforated sheet infill consisting of 1,720 individual louvres
- 2,900 m² steel substructure
- Sun position-guided control for large slats
