Neubau Mehrzweckgebäude Alterswil
Short description
The Alterswil multi-purpose building is an important part of the Alterswil municipality's infrastructure. It is used for school lessons, sports, events and other purposes.
The project
The Alterswil multi-purpose building consists of two parts. A school wing with classrooms and group rooms and a triple gymnasium. The school wing has two storeys and is separated by a timber-concrete composite ceiling. The interior wall elements are clad with visibly screwed three-layer panels. The classrooms have a suspended ceiling in order to achieve good sound insulation values within a room.
Eleven 33 m long, 2 m high and 40 cm thick glulam trusses span the triple gymnasium. The roof ends are formed by 17 m long roof elements, which were prefabricated in the factory in Rümlang with a finished soffit.
Vertical, double-glazed timber cladding forms the tight building envelope on the outside. The façade is rear-ventilated to prevent heat build-up behind the façade.
