Metro Toulouse Line C, Lot 3
Short description
The third metro line, Line C, will connect Colomiers and Labège in 20 minutes. Faster journeys, less congestion and pollution: this will benefit the quality of life and the environment.
The Implenia - Demathieu Bard Construction group has won one of the four underground construction sections: Construction section 3 in the city center of Toulouse.
The project
Lot 3 comprises the excavation of a 3814 m long tunnel with a diameter of 10 m in a densely built-up urban environment as well as foundation, earthworks and civil engineering works for the construction of four underground stations at a depth of 24 to 39 m and a ventilation shaft.
Given the geological conditions, the sensitivity of the buildings in the historic center of Toulouse and the proximity to existing structures, the tunnel will be bored using a variable-density tunnel boring machine integrating the latest technological innovations.
The contract includes the execution of the design and method studies as well as the execution of the works. The project will be planned and executed using BIM.

Sustainability
The use of fiber-reinforced concrete segments reduces the project's carbon footprint as much as possible.
The design and construction of the stations includes the protection and preservation of existing trees on the site.
The excavated material will be transported to storage sites, with the aim of recycling 98% of it.
