Siegburg Prison New kitchen and workshop building
Short description
Implenia Hochbau is constructing the new institutional kitchen and the replacement building for the workshop and outdoor facilities on the grounds of the Siegburg prison.
The project
On behalf of Bau- und Liegenschaftsbetrieb NRW (BLB), Implenia Hochbau is building a new institutional kitchen and a workshop with a car repair shop, paint shop, painting shop, locksmith's shop and joinery as well as other operating and production facilities and associated outdoor facilities for 600 inmates.
The existing buildings of the prison, which was built in 1896, no longer meet the high standards of security, functionality and sustainability.
Services in detail
Following successful prequalification, Implenia initially developed a planning concept LP2, including an indicative price offer, based on a functional service description during the competitive bidding phase. The specific scope of services was developed and defined in partnership with the client; Implenia was able to contribute its construction and logistics expertise at an early stage.
Challenges
The existing security wall must be opened for the construction period; as a temporary solution, a temporary security wall including all security equipment will be erected within the prison.
Sustainability
The project is planned according to the criteria of the BNB requirements for public building owners.
