Haema administration and production
Short description
At the company premises in Leipzig on the Alte Messe site, Implenia constructed a new company headquarters for the largest independent blood donation service in Germany.
The project
In Leipzig, near the Monument to the Battle of the Nations on the Alte Messe site, the Leipzig Buildings branch built a new company headquarters for the largest independent blood donation service in Germany. Haema AG set a tight schedule for the new construction, so the customer opted for a partner model with Implenia Buildings and the planning office S&P Sahlmann. As a result, the Buildings branch in Leipzig was involved in the planning process from an early stage and was able to provide crucial help in ensuring a seamless construction procedure and perfect execution.
Services in detail
- Over an area of 24,300 m², a modern production and administration facility was constructed. The office building features a contemporary open-plan structure.
- The production facilities are used for the production and storage of blood products. The building is accessed via a technical floor between the ground floor and the first upper floor. It contains three cooling units for cooling blood plasma products to -40°C, each standing six metres high.
- A connecting structure links the office to the production area and comprises a foyer, a cafeteria and the function rooms attached to the production building.
- The technology centre can autonomously maintain an energy supply of 1.1 MW in the production and office areas for three days. Air conditioning in the production facilities is provided by water-cooling systems and ceiling-mounted fans. A heating/cooling ceiling provides for intelligent cooling of the office spaces.
