Guest house of the University of Mainz
Short description
Implenia builds multifunctional turnkey guest house for Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz.
The project
On the campus of Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, Implenia Hochbau has carried out the planning and turnkey construction of a new multifunctional guest house for the Mainz University Fund Foundation as part of a consortium.
Services in detail
The seven-storey building with a basement was constructed in a convenient location on an existing plot of land adjacent to the "new center" area of the campus site. Seminar rooms for internal and external use are located on the first floor and second floor. The 2nd floor serves as office space for the client's administration and other offices for users close to the foundation. From the 3rd floor upwards, there are 30 apartments as single and double apartments for visiting professors and guests of JGU. Access is via a staircase core with elevator shaft. Storage rooms, technical facilities and WC areas are located in the basement.
The building measures approx. 35 x 16 meters, with a total height of approx. 25 meters. The façade is prefabricated with clinker bricks. The design of the building is based on the two new Biozentrum 1 and 2 buildings constructed by Implenia between 2016 and 2020.
Sustainability
The building will be constructed as a KfW-55 efficiency house.
