Turnkey construction of sustainable office space in Frankfurt’s East End.

The project

A stone's throw away from the European Central Bank headquarters in Frankfurt’s East End, the Buildings branch in Frankfurt completed the turnkey construction of an office building. The imposing structure, with its elliptical main building section and a usable surface area of around 5,800 square metres, boasts an efficient ratio of façade to floor space. Thanks to continuous dialogue with the project developer from an early stage, the Buildings team was able to bring its real estate expertise to the table right from planning phases 1 to 4.

Challenges

Our specialists advised the building owner on matters relating to DGNB certification and prepared a requirements specification to serve as guidelines for the aspects being implemented. They also provided support throughout the planning and construction processes in order to ensure that the DGNB certification would be achieved, preparing all the necessary evidence such as the life cycle assessment and cost estimate.

Sustainability

The building was awarded the silver certificate by DGNB, with an overall achievement rate of 76.3 per cent.
