Conversion of Schaeffler cafeteria

Implenia Tesch converted the cafeteria of Schaeffler GmbH & Co. KG during ongoing operations.

The project

In September 2013, Implenia Tesch GmbH was awarded the contract for the conversion of cafeteria building 7.2 on the second floor.

Implenia Tesch carried out the following work:

• Demolition, building shell, coating, fire safety and concrete repair work.

Specific aspects:

• The demolition work comprised some 400 m² of plastered surfaces, around 150 m² of timber wall cladding, around 300 m² of surface coverings including screed, and the demolition of the existing 2-layer ceiling constructed in the 1970s.
• The demolition work was carried out in two shifts  and material was transported out of the windows on the second floor.
• The high-grade floor covering, consisting of 1 m x 1 m tiles, was laid over a surface area of 300 m² in 15 working days.
• The 40-year-old cafeteria has been given a sleek facelift, with elements of its industrial past being deftly integrated into its appearance.
