Condition of formwork elements

Dear colleagues

On April 23, 2025, a serious accident occurred on one of our construction sites. A subcontractor was hit and fatally injured by a wall formwork that had broken apart. We will have to check the condition of formwork elements and other work equipment on our construction sites even more closely in future.

Even though there are still no final reports from the authorities on the fatal accident in April, we immediately implemented immediate measures on the project in question. After careful consideration, we have also derived general measures that we are introducing for all projects in Switzerland in order to prevent such serious accidents in the future.

These are defined in the enclosed "Safety Action Alert" for Implenia Switzerland. We ask you to discuss the alert in your teams and implement the measures.
