Residenza Radice - first Minergie-P-ECO certification for a Ticino neighbourhood

Source residenza-radice.ch

The development with the three residential buildings with up to ten storeys and 167 flats can be seen from afar. Previously, three smaller houses, long unoccupied, stood on the 16,000 m² site, surrounded by old trees on otherwise unused land. The housing estate is a key project, not only for Implenia in Ticino, but also for Lugano. "A new mini neighbourhood" was the headline of the daily newspaper "Corriere del Ticino" after the project was presented to the public.

This spring, the project received Minergie-P-ECO certification, making it the first residential quarter of this dimension to be awarded this distinction in Ticino.

The project also deserves the rating "particularly valuable" thanks to its combination of residential building and park. Instead of building over the entire site, the density is increased by up to 30 metres on a smaller area. This creates a lot of space for the partly public park. In the midst of greenery, the modern architecture has a totally urban feel.

Incidentally, it is not only the surrounding park that is green. The three roofs between the two higher building sections are also planted and designed as spacious roof terraces for the residents. Solar panels on the six other roofs provide electricity. The lean construction processes, the building materials and the installed equipment meet the highest ecological standards.

Our team in Lugano approached this total contractor assignment with great enthusiasm and determination, bringing all the available know-how to bear. It was clear from the outset that we shared with the client Swiss Life and the project team the values that are essential for successful operation. Among them a very important value for Implenia: sustainability. The effort paid off and we congratulate the team on this success!
