Implenia wins another major order
Dietlikon, 27 June 2017 – Implenia has won a general contractor order from Leutschenbach AG to build three residential towers plus base storeys in the Oerlikon district of Zurich. This is yet another major order for the Group in Zurich North, where it is already proving its high-rise construction expertise at the Andreasturm and other developments. With its integrated approach, Implenia will be supplying general contracting services as well as foundation engineering, concreting and masonry services. Even during the bidding phase, Implenia used Building Information Modelling (BIM) to ensure that the construction costs were planned as effectively as possible. As part of its buyer support service, Implenia is offering the developer digital solutions that help address the wishes of future home owners simply and straightforwardly. Working from the apartment floor plans, the developer can already offer its customers a virtual viewing of their future home and work with them to integrate their preferences. State-of-the-art methods will be used to execute the work, too. Finally, while planning the project, the Group has been able to exploit its many years of experience with sustainability issues. The Wolkenwerk project is worth around CHF 150 million.
Designed by Staufer & Hasler Architekten and Ballmoos Krucker Architekten, the three “Wolkenwerk” towers will contain more than 300 owner-occupied homes, from studios to garden apartments to exclusive penthouse maisonettes. In addition, Nyffenegger Armaturen will be setting up a fittings production facility in one of the base storeys. Building materials – especially the bricks and concrete – have been chosen to additionally reflect the site’s industrial heritage. The project is being built and certified to Minergie standards, which will ensure the properties meet stringent criteria for living quality and sustainability. The ground-breaking ceremony takes place at the end of August 2017. The first apartments should be handed over to the developer at the end of 2019, and residents will begin to move in from the start of 2020.
