Implenia secures new industrial construction orders

Implenia is executing two ambitious new projects for industrial customers in central Switzerland | The total contractor jobs are worth a combined CHF 45 million

Dietlikon, 26 October 2017 – Two new orders for industrial buildings in the heart of Switzerland underline Implenia’s planning and building construction credentials. V-Zug AG has asked Implenia to build the Zephyr Hangar Speedy on its site in the city of Zug. The two-storey hall, with around 3,600 m2 of floorspace, will house two servo transfer presses, which will be used to manufacture a new line of V-Zug household appliances. The order marks a continuation of V-Zug’s long-term policy of investing in Zug as a centre for the development and manufacture of high quality household appliances in Switzerland. Implenia played a general planning role in phase one of the project; in the second phase it is acting as total contractor. According to the timetable, Implenia will hand over the completed hangar to V-Zug at the beginning of summer 2019.

Implenia is building another production facility in Sarnen, Canton Obwalden. Again acting as total contractor, Implenia is constructing a five-storey manufacturing facility with offices and a parking garage for Leister AG. Phase one saw Implenia carrying out strategic planning for the project and performing the role of general planner. The building is being built to “Minergie” standards and will help to expand Leister’s production capacity. Difficult ground conditions at the site will present a particular challenge. The new building, which will offer around 13,000 m2 of floorspace, is being built onto the side of an existing one. Implenia will ensure that the facility can continue to operate undisturbed during building work. Construction starts in December 2017, and will be completed in spring 2019.

Implenia has many years of experience in the planning and construction of industrial buildings for manufacturing and food production. Alongside its building expertise, its high-level skills in operational and logistics planning are crucial here. Its experience as a general planner means that Implenia, working with the planning team, can translate the user’s requirements into an effective overall facility.

Leister AG has commissioned Implenia to expand its production capacity in Sarnen (Canton Obwalden) by constructing a factory building with offices and a parking garage. Having done the strategic and general planning, Implenia is now executing the project as total contractor (visualisation: Mozzatti Schlumpf Architekten AG).
